How to Create a Consistent Instagram Feed

Successful users on the Instagram platform are known for their aesthetically pleasing and thought out content. Creating an impressive feed can be achieved through a number of different tactics, but isn’t as complicated as it may seem! Have you ever thought objectively about your own Instagram feed? Keep reading to uncover some ways to up your IG game and create a consistent feed!

Archive Posts

Whether you’re brand new to Instagram or a seasoned veteran, most users have some ways they can improve in their efforts. For those who already have content on their profile, it may be a good idea to go back and reevaluate your posts. Look for posts that don’t reach the level of quality you’re looking to achieve. Some posts may also be irrelevant to your current lifestyle or goals. Instead of completely deleting your posts, you can opt to “Archive” the posts you don’t want people to see anymore. This will put your undesired posts in a safe place on your account that is only accessible to you. If you ever change your mind and want the post back on your feed, go into your Archives and “reactivate” the post.

Instagram users may want to vet their profile occasionally to see what’s working and what can be improved. Archiving posts is a good way to adjust the direction of your social media efforts and remove content that is no longer applicable to you.

Utilize Saves

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. For Instagram users, using successful accounts as inspiration is an excellent way to try new things and meet personal goals online. Go through accounts and posts that you like and save them to create a mood board. This will allow you to look back on the kinds of content, topics, color schemes, and so on that you want to imitate on your own page. Mood boards also provide good inspiration to keep you motivated and putting out good, consistent content on your page. You can create different “saved” categories to organize specific types of content or themes you enjoy. Try to find accounts that post content you like for inspiration!

Follow a Theme

Successful Instagram accounts often follow a theme in their posts, whether it’s through specific filters, colors, branding elements, or aspect ratios. Create a consistent Instagram feed on your own account by following a theme in your posts! After creating a mood board or looking at other accounts for inspiration, think about the kind of theme you want to follow. By using a theme, each of your posts will be cohesive in some way. This will provide you with a visually organized and consistent flow on your profile page. Followers will come to recognize your posts over time for the theme you follow, so remember to be intentional and specific with your content.

A consistent feed takes time to curate. Don’t be afraid to try new things and see what both you and your audience like best! Over time, you’ll begin to build out a specific look on your page that appears organized and thought out. Try to post consistently and build a look that accurately represents you!
